The Festival

In Kalaiyyan tradition, every fifteen years a great festival (Murugaiyyan) is held in remembrance of Murugan Aaiyyani. This festival was (and is) a great Tantric festival that celebrates humanity acquiring knowledge of the sacred Dravidian scripts, which was handed to them via Shiva's guidance to Murugan.

A brief background: Aaiyyanist historians have debated throughout the ages, the origin of Dravidian Aaiyyani: the sacred scripts and symbols that allow Talas and Lokas to be opened. Which then allows resonant energy and matter to flow from one dimension into another to affect change.

Many Aaiyyanists argue that this sacred knowledge was passed through Brahman to Shiva, and it was via Shiva that this knowledge was made understandable and codified by the incarnation of Murugan-Aaiyyan. Some Aaiyyanists argue that Shiva codified the knowledge and opened up a Loka to a much more ancient/older incarnation of his son Murugan in the Aaiyyanist form. As Aaiyyanist know, space and time are meaningless but also absolutely critical in the Dravidian scientific study of Lokas/Talas. Thus in the ancient times and now, we believe that it is credible that Shiva digested the knowledge of the sacred symbols from Brahman, and then opened a portal to a much more ancient incarnation of Murugan who (after the passage of time) was much more wise and was able to codify the knowledge into a language that us humans and other similar beings could absorb.

The most important idea you must understand is this: the knowledge of the symbols has its origin in Brahman, and the symbols themselves are linked resonantly into how the Universe is structured, both via its structure and sound. So every stroke, syllable and pronunciation links directly with the Loka/Tala. And one can chant the symbols or more importantly, resonantly write, inscribe the symbols in the mystical Brahman-Aaiyyan pattern that fits and unlocks the doors to various portals that surround us.

The Tantric and Orthodox Aaiyyanists celebrate this transference of knowledge from Brahman to Shiva to Murugan Aaiyyani in the Murugan Aaiyyani festival: Murugaiyyan. And when Delviniyan was around five to seven years old, the auspicious time had come again for the festival of Murugan-Aaiyyani. Queen Sironemaniyaa ordered a celebration.

The Kingdom of the Kalaiyyans followed a Tantric path and so the Queen ordered a feast of deer, venison, wine and abundances of fruit from the mountains, hills and forests that surrounded her palace. Now the Queen had the foresight of Tantric knowledge and perceived a threat in the surrounding hills, mountains and forests. But could not quite put her mind on what or who was a threat. It was masked to her. So, in preparation of this indiscernible warning, the Queen sent her ten finest huntsmen, and twenty master soldiers who were well versed in the Dravidian fighting arts to hunt for the game. As the Queen did not know the nature of the danger, she was cautious but not too troubled as her soldiers were the finest in the land. However, the Queen did want to know what was blocked from her sight so she also gave this command:

"Search the whole forest from stream to tree, from hills to ditches - use your hidden eye to find that which is seen and unseen, search in this plane and others, between shadows and through the rays of sunlight. Search the tiniest cracks to the mightiest gorges, let nothing hidden be unseen."

The master soldiers and huntsmen went in search for game and the unseen danger, with the Queen's message ringing in their ears... The whole Kalaiyyan Palace waited up for one night, then two nights and then 10 days but none of the hunting party returned. They were lost. The Murugaiyyan Festival was thus cancelled and the Palace went into a deep meditation.

The high Tantric Aaiyyani Master KalShivayan who controlled the Temple, the Royal Priests and the School had a vision while he performed an Accanaayan meditation. This is a Tantric Aaiyyanist form of Yogic transformation where the mind is split and can transverse simultaneously several dimensions closer to our own to see various realities that may be perceived to be some sort of future reference. In other words, you are able to see many variations on a possible future but only the strength of the Yogic master can interpret it correctly via their experience and innate Yogic power. After the vision passed Sage KalShivayan saw a version of the true reality which focused (in his mind's interpretation) to form a spiritual warning. A warning so profound that it shocked him to his very core. He saw the vision of the mountains and its significance in the wider universal spectrum, and its relation with Surapadman (The Block). Sage KalShivayan understood his own interpretation of the truth. The wise yet arrogant Sage then went to the Queen and warned her to never to send anyone into the mountains, as if she did the key to defeating Surapadman would be lost.

The Queen pondered the thoughts of Sage KalShivayan and her Tantric advisers and decreed that no one would ever enter the mountains again. Her will was carried out and and for 5 years no one entered the mountains until one day a famous wandering Sage by the name of Sri Janeganian (named after the great Seer Janeganianaa) came to the palace and said: "In order for Turappuyan (Brahman's Instrument) to be found, I must go into the high mountains and hills and seek the truth of life".

The Queen answered - "But the High Aaiyyani Master KalShivayan foretold that 'the Instrument' will be lost if anyone enters the mountains?",

But the wise Sage Janeganian said: "The Instrument is already lost and needs to be found".

Sage KalShivayan, head of the School of KutiKampalaam implored the Queen to disregard the edict of wise Sri Janeganian, and so both the eminent Sages conversed with each other and debated the nature of the true spiritual reality. Sri Janeganian pushed KalShivayan into revealing the exact vision he had, but KalShivayan could only offer interpretation and discourse into his vision. Sri Janeganian presented his findings and his technique to ascertain the truth, for Sri Janeganian had performed the Aatmaani Aaiyyanist technique of Anavuyaan in which the adept uses Lokas (dimensions) close to ours, but in a time reference that is aside from ours such that one can see clearly in various timelines that are similar and not too dissimilar to our frame of reference. (Note: Sri Janeganian was famous for engineering this Yogic technique that is still used today).

Sri Janeganian told the Queen and the High Tantric court that Sage KalShivayan's vision was clouded. And by using the Anavuyaan technique Sri Janeganian was able to discern clearly the future of 'The Block'. The caveat being that it was a future reality that was close to but not exactly our own, so there was a risk involved. Thus, the Queen and her Tantric Advisers retired to meditate upon the arguments on whether to allow Sri Janeganian free passage to the mountains.

The Queen used her Tantric Yogic meditation and wrote Talic inscriptions all night to allow resonant energy to flow into her and direct her to ascertain the correct path. At one point during the rituals she caught a glimpse, or a shadow of the way. She learnt from a sliver of perception that if Sri Janeganian were to enter the mountains, hills and forests he must secure whatever (or whoever) he found. And so it was that the Queen knew what she must do. She summoned the Royal Court, Sage KalShivayan and Sri Janeganian and declared:

"If I allow you to enter the mountains, hills and forests, you must bring back whatever you find - this must be your Karmic promise".

This is the powerful Karmic promise that extends beyond one lifetime into many lifetimes until it is fulfilled. The Sage agreed to this demand immediately, and as the Queen was pleased that there was no debate she generously sent the Sage a small army of Kalaiyyan Yogic warriors of the UdSainikahyan Order (a precursor of the SainikaH) to assist in the search.
